When should you Prune trees?
A good time to prune is in the early spring or late winter, shortly before trees begin to grow buds. If the tree has already started to bud and pruning is needed, it is best to postpone any cuts until the leaves have fully grown out. Low hanging and dead branches should be pruned immediately for safety reasons. In most cases, only a small amount of pruning is necessary for the first three years after planting a tree.
Why is it important for trees to be pruned?
Pruning trees can enhance both the aesthetics of the surrounding space and the well-being of the tree. Tree pruning is an important practice which lengthens the lifespan of your trees and ensures that it does not become overgrown. When pruning is done regularly, trees can also be assessed regularly and any diseases can often be avoided or detected at an earlier stage.
